St Loye’s Receive Most Votes in Okehampton Waitrose Community Matters
St Loye’s Foundation received the most amount of votes from the local community in the Waitrose Okehampton Community Matters scheme.
Each month, every Waitrose branch donates £1000 to local good causes, divided between three organisations.* Customers are given green tokens at the end of their shopping and are given the choice to support one of the three organisations. At the end of the month the money is divided according to the number of tokens received.
Our Cosdon Friends Group kindly put together a great application gaining us a place in the Okehampton Waitrose branch and at the end of the month St Loye’s Foundation received the most votes.
Laura Grant, Branch Manager of Waitrose Okehampton said: “It’s highly important to us that we help to support the local community and the Community Matters scheme enables us to provide support to worthwhile causes that are at the heart of the community. I am delighted to have been able to support the good work of St Loye’s Foundation.”
Louise Jones, Corporate and Trusts Fundraiser for St Loye’s Foundation said: “To have such positive support from the community is wonderful! Waitrose’s Community Matters scheme is a great way for us to engage with the local community and their support of St Loye’s is so appreciated. This will allow us to continue to support disabled and disadvantaged people to transform their lives.”
*Large Waitrose branches donate £1000 a month and little Waitrose convenience stores donate £500.
