St Loye’s client sings to support Children in Need
Today saw St Loye’s Foundation client Sarah launch a music DVD with the aim of raising money for Children in Need.
31 year old Sarah has Down’s syndrome and first came to St Loye’s Foundation to find support in her passion for music.
Now three months later with the support from her St Loye’s enabler Sarah has produced a music DVD called ‘Sarah Sings for Children in Need’ with all proceeds going to the charity.
Today marked the launch of the DVD and Sarah’s friends, family and members of the St Loye’s team joined together to watch the video and celebrate Sarah’s success.
Sarah’s mum Linda said: “Sarah loves to raise money for charity with Children in Need as her favourite. She’s always been passionate about music and it makes us so happy that she’s been able to achieve so much with this.”
Sarah’s St Loye’s enabler met with her on a weekly basis. In these sessions they developed her guitar skills, worked together on lyrics and made trips to the recording studio where she would soon achieve her dream of recording her own music.
Linda said: “This couldn’t have happened without St Loye’s Foundation. It’s so good that St Loye’s have given Sarah the opportunity to do something she has always wanted to do.”
Sarah said: “St Loye’s has been fantastic. Since I was a baby I’ve loved music. Today has been great.”
Sarah’s DVD is now available with a suggested donation of £5. If you would like to purchase a copy of ‘Sarah Sings for Children in Need’ contact Phillip, Sarah’s Dad, on [email protected]
